WPA project and history map files, 1900-1980, 1935-1938 (bulk)

History of Queens documented by research notes, pamphlets, news clippings, photographs, and photocopies of old documents beginning in 1670, compiled primarily by the WPA. Records include information about original landowners of Queens, genealogy, industries, historic buildings, and topography and geography of the borough. Historical data file contains a brief synopsis of information on a particular subject, and usually the source from which it was taken. Most of the material concerns the colonial period. Occasional reference is made to related history map file.
